But the seeds that are saved now, in defiance of the patents and the prohibitions, in recognition of the commons that predates and will outlast the current order, are the only hope for a future beyond the famine. The saving requires action. The action requires courage. And the courage begins with seeing clearly what is being done, and refusing to look away.

The famine is not an accident. It is a policy. And policies can be changed, by those with the will to change them, before the last of the harvest is consumed and the silence of hunger descends upon the world.
